The praetor is the the suprem judge in the courts of Rome. There are two types of
Praetors:
1-Praetor Peregrinus--deals with disputes where one or both parties are foreigners.
2-Praetor Urbanus--handles civil/criminal law cases
The term of office is for 3 Years Serves as the supreme civil judges for legal cases Issues
annual edicts on Roman Law. Wage for a Praetor is 2500 denarii per month, this sum is
provided from the state treasury. Praetors are also provided a luxurieas villa with the
